Hi, I'm Cate! I've been teaching now for 12 years although I have no idea where that time has gone! Following a degree and short career in Journalism, I decided teaching was where my heart was. Living in the Lake District at the time, I undertook a PGCE in Carlisle and subsequently worked in the city for 5 years before returning to my Essex roots. I have taught in all year groups across KS1 and KS2, although my preference and expertise certainly lies within Upper Key Stage 2.
I have held many leadership roles from Phase Lead to Literacy Lead but 2 years ago had a slight change of direction and became Inclusion Manager/ SENCO. This has been a wonderful experience which has taught me a great deal more about all styles of learning and ways to support all learners achieve their potential. I am currently studying for my NASENCO qualification to support me in my role! I enjoy supporting staff within my school and getting to know children across all year groups.
I absolutely LOVE tutoring here at QControl- helping pupils on a 1:1 basis really does make such a difference! I am happy to cover any topics and am always happy to tailor our sessions to your request or requirements.
